Ice lanterns a'la Brett

So early one Saturday morning, Brett and I were watching KARE 11 morning news. They had a segment with Belinda & Bobby Jensen. They were actually trying to sell these forms that you could buy to use to make these ice lanterns. Well of course Brett immediately ( and I do mean Immediately ) went to work on fashioning his own ice lanterns no form necessary! He made two of them, improving each time. There is nothing Brett can't do!!! Calling Martha Stewart! :)

A new look

So the kid's told me that I needed to change the blog background for Christmas. It was really kind of frustrating! What do you think? Do you like the new look or the old look?

Yo Momma, it's your birthday!

Happy Birthday to my Momma! She had a beautiful day to celebrate! I won't say how old she is today because my mother taught me it's impolite! :} Love ya Momma!

Yet another refuge adventure

I don't know what we would do without all of this beauty right out our door!

Along the way we found some more snakes! Good thing the guy's don't mind catching them, cuz I won't!!!

Sometimes the kid's are sooo cute!

Did the kid's whine and complain much of this 3 mile hike? Of course they did, but in the end it is always worth it! Fall is my favorite time of year, and in this environment, I am like a kid in a candy store!

Welcome Home China Larsen's

So, the China Larsen's are back in the USA, and at the end of August the whole Larsen Clan was ALL together for the first time in a long time.

A good time was had by all, especially all of the kid's who got to play with all of their cousin's. Also the parent's with the camera's had a pretty good time as well! Here are some samples of the over 200 pics Brett and I took that day!

As you can see, getting all of the grandchildren to co-operate for one picture was a tad bit challenging!

The Blue Ribbon Melons

So here are the long awaited pic's of Brett's State Fair Prize Winners!

Brett's a state Champion, Blue prize winner!!!!!

Brett is a blue ribbon winner at the Minnesota State Fair!!! His watermellon's are the best in Minnesota, or at least the best entered at the state fair!!!

He is also a second, a third and a fourth prize winner for his green zuchinni, his spaghetti squash, his paste tomatoe's and his yellow zuchinni!!!

First day of the fair and he's already a winner!!! Course, I've ALWAY'S known he's a winner!!!

More details and pics to follow. He is also entering some more thing's this Sunday, so there may be more to come!!!

If you go to the fair, be sure to stop at the AG building to check out his prize winning veggies! But only if you go between now and Sunday, because we're going Sunday and I think he'll be bringing those ribbons home!!! :)

Another Refuge adventure

So I as previously mentioned Brett just got a new camera! We had to go for another refuge adventure to try it out! There are some cool shot's of the bald eagle's that nest in the refuge and also one of an endangered trumpeter swan who upon later inspection of the pic's had a bunch of babies with her in her nest!

Last Saturday was CM Information Specialists Company picnic. This year my Boss rented out the Johnathan Padelford riverboat. We had a 3 hour tour ( which when they said was three hours, I have to admit, I immediately thought of Gilligan's Island ) and Brett took some cool pictures with his new camera.
