Tis the Season

It's that time of year, the kid's are back in school, the weather is starting to become cool and crisp. This is my favorite time of year, the cool but not cold evenings, the sound of the wind blowing through the tree's... and of yeah...

Football Season!

Which just happens to also be one of my favorite thing's! For those of you who don't know, the Vike's did win their first game of the regular season!

Tonight is another favorite Monday Night Football!

Larsen Family campout

So a few week's ago all the Larsen's went camping. Here are a few of the photo's from the trip.

Who let the dog's out?

So last Friday the kid's were playing at one of the neighbor's house's. Andrew comes home and says " Hey Mom, Angela is here and you need to come and meet her now." Angela is the mother of Jake and Jesse, some neighbor kid's who the boy's play with all of the time. So I went outside expecting to just kind of chit-chat. Angela and I have spoken on the phone and the kid's even spent the night over at her house earlier this summer.

So I come outside and she is frantic, has my baby boy Brandon at her side and he is crying and she pulls up his shirt and tells me that their dog had bit my boy!

The dog is up to date and the skin was really not broken too badly, but as you can see he bruised something awful! I'm sure that she initially thought that we would sue, but Brett and I felt that as long as the dog had it's shot's and he was not bleeding that much, he did not need stitches, a trip to the hospital was not necessary.

Brandon is recovering quite well, just still bruised. The neighbor ( and later her husband and kid's ) stayed here talking until almost 11:30 that night.

So slowly, slowly we are finally after 8 years here, starting to get to know the neighbor's!

Brandon is really ok and was even ready to go back to their house the next morning!

Happy birthday Randy!

Happy birthday to the best brother in the world!

For those of you who don't know, today is Randy's 29th birthday!

I miss him just as much or more today than ever! He was my first child, my little brother, my best friend, and there will never be anyone to take his place in my heart, ever!

There is an in memoriam ad placed today in the Star & Tribune, please feel free to check it out.

I love you so much Randy, and can only hope that you can see all that we have become, and all that we will never be without you! You are always with me, and only you and I can know what we had together and how lost I am without you!

Thank you for being in my life and for loving me like you did, without exception, and with all you had!

You are always in my heart, in my soul, and on my mind.

I love you always!

Morneau is THE Man!!!!

Did you see either of the Twins Double Header today?

They totally rocked in both games, a total of 32!

My boy was responsible for 3 homeruns himself, something that has not been done by a Twin ( 3 homers in one day ) since 1973, courtesy of Tony Oliva!

A promotion for Brett

  • So Brett was offered a promotion at work. He has been mulling it over. It means a lot of changes, the biggest being the following:
  • An office, a desk and even a window!
  • A salary position from an hourly
  • A crazy schedule for the first 90 days

Most important for Brett, it means he is " The Boss"!

He just officially accepted the offer yesterday, so there will be plenty more details to come, but I am hoping that this is a really good move for Brett and us as a family as well. Job security for this position versus his last is much, much better!

That's all for now, just wanted to keep everyone updated, and as I said before, more details to follow!

The Larsen's go to a neighbor's party!

So as most of you know, one of the main reason's we moved out to the country was so we had our own space and did not have to be bothered by neighbors. Well, as you may have read on a previous post, we were invited to the neighbors graduation party on Saturday.

The kid's wanted to go right away when they woke up, and Brett and I were really trying to put it off for as long as we could, even trying to think of reason's not to go. We decided that we had to just suck it up and go on over at around four.

So we slowly made our way over next door, where the party was really just getting started. The boy's of course left us as soon as they had made it to the pool, we were on our own, feeling like the first day in a new school or something....

Needless to say, it did not take very long before we had made friendly, and laughed at how we had kept to ourselves ( them and us ) for the three years that they had been there!!!

So long story short, the neighbor's are really pretty nice, and we stayed at the party much longer than the two cigarette allotment Brett had set before we left! :)

Bye Bye Long Hair!

So Sunday after spending two night's at Grandma & Grandpa's, it was hot out and Andrew decided after a year of growing his hair, that it was time for a cut. So dad pulled out the handy dandy clippers and Andrew's beautiful hair went bye bye!

So Andrew's long hair is no more! As you can see, he wasn't too upset about it!

While Brett was doing his barber thing, Brandon came over from the neighbor's and said that they wanted to know if they gave Brett $5.00 would he cut William's ( the neighbor boy ) hair.

Brett told them to keep their money, that he just gave buzz cuts and he would do it. So here he is with William.

So after Brett was done playing barber, later that night we decided to have a fire and we told the kids they could make smores. This whole time we are getting the fire started, chopping wood and such, the boy's are at the neighbors. They are yelling across the yard, "Mom, can William have some smores too?" So we said that was fine, he could. The next thing we know, Brett's worst nightmare is happening.

Brandon had went and invited the whole family from next door over for smores, not just William! If you know Brett, you know that he is fairly anti-social, especially when it comes to the neighbors, and people he does not know. So after living next door to us for three years, and the kid's knowing them, and us knowing their kid, we finally met the next door neighbors!

They came and had smores with us, they brought Brett a beer when they came, so he was more than happy to take it! They stayed for about an hour, ( way too long for Brett to socialize ) and before they left they had invited us four different times to a graduation party they are having on Saturday. Now Brett has to go socialize again! I hope he can handle it!

Bye Bye Wisdom Teeth

So last Friday Brett had to have his wisdom teeth pulled. He is not a fan of the dentist and had to be put to sleep. He was not happy, but in a lot of pain and had to have it done. I waited while he underwent surgery and when he was waking up, they called me back into the room he was recovering in.

Most of you know how funny Brett is, but I don't think anyone but me has been around when he is coming out of the anesthesia. Let me tell you, I was laughing so hard I was crying. The different nurses kept poking their head's into the room to make sure everything was OK. I'm not sure that they are used to hysterical laughter in a recovery room!

As he was waking up, he was telling me how nice the doctor was and how cute the nurses were! I didn't take offense to this as the first thing he said when I came into the room was " I want a kiss! " while pointing at what he thought was his lips but because he was still numb, ended up being more or less his chin. The whole time that the anesthesia was still strong, he made me laugh uncontrollably! His doctor did pop his head into the room to tell me that Brett was not responsible for anything that he said right now, that he was more or less " Drunk ". I truly enjoyed him in this condition!

Although our holiday weekend was not too exciting because of his recovery, I still managed to get him to eat and stay fairly pain free, thanks to the vicodin extra strength of course! We slept in Brett's new tent that he got for his birthday, had some fires and played some baseball with the kid's. Now that those teeth are long gone, Brett is wondering " When is the tooth fairy coming?"
